If your printer isn’t listed at all then we will have to add it back in.
Click on the Add Printer button at the top of the Devices and Printers Page.
When the add Printer box pops up be sure to select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.
This will start the computer searching the network for printers.
Depending on the size of your office you may have several items listed, you want to find the printer name that matches your model number. In my case this was the Dell 5230n. Notice that the address next to the name starts with http:// and ends with :65001/ this tells you that it will download the printer driver automatically. You simply hit next then wait for it to download and install. Once it is installed then it should pop up a box that ask you to enter the printer name and if you want it shared. Use the printer’s model number for the name and do not share the printer. After that you should be done.
If the printer doesn’t have that but is listed with an address like 192.168.0.50 then thats ok. Select that printer and click next. This should open a box with a list of manufacturers on the left and printers on the right. It is very important to select the correct driver for the printer you are using. In most cases you can go by the make and model of the printer. Example, Dell 2335. Look for dell on the left and select the 2335dn on the right.
If you have a Dell 5210n then you must select a different driver then what might be listed. You will want to go with a Lexmark T620 (MS). The Dell driver for the 5210 does not work well at all.
If the driver for your Printer is not in the list at all then please call your Tech!
After you select your driver click next and it should ask for the printer name is if you wish to share it, as well as a button to print a test page. Name the printer after its model and do not share. Click the button to print a test page, if it prints then you are done!
If you hit the print test page button and it does not print then something else may be wrong. Click here to troubleshoot the printer itself or call your Tech!
